JAMMU, Oct 20: A delegation of Federation of Industries Jammu under the Chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan in presence of Ajit Bawa Co-Chairman, FOIJ and Ankur Jain Executive Committee Member of FOIJ called on the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and hoped that pending issues of the Jammu Industry will be resolved by the new Government.
The delegation also conveyed congratulations to Omar Abdullah as first Chief Minister of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and hoped that the new Government under his leadership would take up the responsibilities and challenges of high office.
The Members said that the entire Industrial fraternity of Jammu have a lot of expectations from the new government especially with regard to revival and strengthening of the existing ailing Industrial Sector of J&K mostly run by the sons of the soil.
Lalit Mahajan also drew the attention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah towards the long pending Issues related to the existing working Industrial units which includes the Turnover Incentive, GST linked incentives at par with NCSS-2021 Scheme of Govt of India to existing units and units under substantial expansion/ change in the line of activity/diversification, marketing support in the shape purchase/price preference for the supply of finished goods to JKUT Govt Departments and other issues related to Industrial sector of J&K.
He said it is the need of the hours to resolve the issues on priority basis to regain the confidence of working existing Industrial units who are providing the direct and indirect employment to lakhs of local people but suffering due to dilution of above fiscal incentives and facing stiff competition from the new units being established under the NCSS 2021 Scheme of Govt of India.
The Chief Minister listened to the current scenario of the Industrial sector patiently and assured that his Govt will provide hand holding support for the revival of the existing Industrial units of state.
