Follow teachings of Islam, work for humanity: Mian Bashir

KANGAN, June 8:  Over one lakh devotees thronged Baba Nagri to attend 119th Urs of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA). The 2-day Urs, celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety, was concluded today with special and joint prayers at Baba Nagri in Wangat Kangan.
Every year, the Urs commences on June 7 with Quran Khawani, Daroud Azqar and Khatmat-ul-Mozama followed by night long prayers and concludes on June 8 with joint prayers.
The devotees from within and outside the State, including from PoK had reached Baba Nagri to participate in the Urs. Besides paying obeisance on the Dargah of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA) they also took part in night long Shab-khawani and Daroud Azqar gatherings held during Urs days.
On the concluding day, a joint prayer was held in which devotees prayed for peace, prosperity, unity, brotherhood and communal harmony of the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajadh Nisheen Darbari Aaliya Babaji, Mian Bashir Ahmed highlighted the life and contribution of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din (RA). He said Hazrat Kiyanvi (RA) all along his life preached the lesson of Islam and piousness. He said following the Islamic teachings and treading on it can ensure eradication of evils spreading in the society.
Mian Bashir said that Islam teaches us the lesson of humanity and sympathy and stressed upon devotes to work for the welfare of common man and follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). He said Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) followed the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and reached to this point of spiritualty. He said one can live peaceful and dignified life and strengthening the bases of communal harmony once he acts upon the teachings of Islam.
Besides the Minister for Forests, Mian Altaf Ahmad, various renowned religious leader and scholars participated in the congregation. Mian Altaf was personally supervising the lodging, boarding and other facilities put in place for the devotees during Urs days.
