Food & Allied workers’ strike enters 12 day

JAMMU, Jan 19: The strike launched by Food and Allied Workers’ Union in the entire State presing for their demands today entered 12th day.
The work in all the offices of CAPD remained suspended throughout the State while protest dharna of the workers continued today in front of the office of Director, CAPD, Jammu as well as Srinagar.
President of the union, Bishan Dass, said that there is no response from the department till today. He said that from the attitude of the concerned authorities, it appears that officers of the department are not serious in favour of labour related issues and they do not like the betterment of the workers. “Therefore we have decided to continue the ongoing strike and suspend work in all offices of the department throughout the State till our demands are met”, he added.
The union appealed Governor NN Vohra for his intervention to rescue the desperate workers of CAPD and save the food crisis in the State.
