Food Craft Institute (FCI) organises Dogri food festival

JAMMU, Dec 11: In order to promote Dogri culinary traditions and promote skill development among students, a vibrant Dogri food festival organised by the Food Craft Institute (FCI) Jagti was held here today.
The food festival, which saw enthusiastic involvement from nearly 500 students from various Government schools of district Jammu.
On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi, MLA of East Jammu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Subah Mehta, Joint Director of the School Education Department, served as the guest of honour.
Addressing to the students, Yudhvir Sethi commended FCI for its efforts in empowering Jammu’s youth through skill education.
He praised the institution’s role in preserving and promoting the region’s rich Dogra culture, particularly its traditional cuisine.
“It is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India’s youth skilled and self-reliant and FCI is playing a crucial role in shaping that vision in Jammu and is contributing significantly to making the youth of Jammu more skilled, while also promoting our rich cultural heritage,” he said.
Earlier, Jyoti Bhatti, Principal of FCI Jammu, highlighted the institute’s significant role in promoting skill education and local cultural heritage.
He shared insights into the workings of FCI and emphasized its commitment to providing vocational training and fostering hands-on learning experiences for students.
The event concluded with students showcasing their culinary talents, celebrating the rich Dogra heritage and highlighting the importance of skill development in today’s rapidly evolving world.
