JAMMU, Oct 29: Ahead of Diwali Festival, a team of Food Safety Officers, district Jammu inspected sweet shops in Trikuta Nagar, Roop Nagar, Muthi, Kanji House Gumat and at many other places in Jammu and lifted 19 samples of sweets, Khoya, Ladoo, Soan-papdi etc.
The inspecting team challaned three outlets for unhygienic conditions and one improvement notice was served to Food Business Operators (FBOs) for running their establishments without any proper infrastructure and in violation of Schedule 4 of Food Safety & Standards Act 2006 .
A handout of the department stated that this drive will continue till Diwali festival.
It also stated that if any FBO found indulging in any illegal activities, it will be dealt under the FSS Act. Further all the consumers are requested to lodge on line complaint at departmental help line no. 104 if they find anything adulterated.
The inspection team was headed by Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety Department, Madan Mangota and Assistant Commissioners Food Safety district Jammu Rural & Municipal Limit Jammu, Ajay Khajuria and Rajan Kapoor and all the Food Safety Officers of District Jammu.
