For BJP, power is a means to serve society: Dr Nirmal

JAMMU, Jan 22: BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma CA, alongwith former Deputy CM & BJP Legislature Party leader,  Dr. Nirmal Singh, Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLAs- Sukhnandan Kumar, Abdul Gani Kohli and Dr. Gagan Bhagat, addressed a massive “Vikas Sushasan Sankalp rally” at R.S. Pura today.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the gathering, said that PDP-BJP coalition government in the State has commenced many public welfare schemes and projects. The fate of the farmers has been changed for better by the various schemes of the State and Central government. For the first time in the history of the country “Pradhan Mantri Kissan Bima Yojana” has been introduced where major portion of the insurance premium will be paid by the government. He added that in a short span of less than one year PDP-BJP government has changed the administration’s mindset and has ensured equal development of the regions of the State.
For the first time, because of Modi government’s major policy initiatives, Pakistan is taking transparent and verifiable steps to trace the roots and connections of the terrorists who are trying to create mayhem in India and curb them.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, in his address, said that BJP is a people’s party and its ethos is the welfare and wellbeing of the people. In its perception, power is one of the means to serve the people. The party has glorious history of public service and has always been in the forefront of people’s movement for various causes, he added.
He said many people friendly policy initiatives and schemes were commenced during PDP-BJP government. He cited the amnesty scheme introduced by the PDD as an instance of this people-friendly approach. The government had also started taking credible steps to get government lands freed from the clutches of land grabbers and land mafia. The government has also initiated adequate and result oriented steps to curb militancy and terrorism, he added.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that in this Information technology age, there are fast and reliable means of communication and the works done by the Modi led government at the Centre are reaching every nook and corner of the country and the people are applauding its pro- people, pro-youth and pro-women policies and programmes.
Sukhnandan Kumar and Abdul Gani Kohli spoke on various steps taken during their tenures as ministers to bring transparency and accountability in departments under their ministries  apart from streamlining their working.
Dr. Gagan Bhagat highlighted the works undertaken in R.S. Pura constituency during last one year and assured for developing every area without any discrimination.
