JAMMU, Oct 2: Lavishing all praises on security forces for giving a befitting reply to enemy, Union Minister of State in PMO with Independent Charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that security forces are capable enough to deal with any misadventure.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of Swachhta Abhiyan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said the security forces under Modi Government enjoy the professional freedom to take the decisions depending upon their wisdom and discretion without any outside interference.
While referring to NIA raids on separatist leaders and operations launched by security forces and J&K Police to eliminate the dreaded terrorists to rid the Kashmiris of their atrocities, he said that a discernable change is visible on ground in the Valley now as Kashmiris are fed up with terrorist violence.
“The common people of Kashmir especially the youth are gradually coming out in support of the actions taken against separatists and terrorists by the Government. There is also a yearning among the Kashmiri masses who are fed up with the bloodshed for restoration of age old composite culture of the Valley,” he added.
He said the celebration of Dussehra festival in Anantnag district for the first time this year in last 28 years with religious fervor and gaiety is an indication in this regard. In this function besides, the members of Hindu community a large number of Muslims also participated which showed that Kashmiris want that uncertainty created by the secessionists should end, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who also commended the role of J&K Police in launching a strong operation against the terrorism said it is heartening to note that the State police particularly its Special Operation Wing is performing a commendable role. Their role has also been appreciated by the senior Generals and by the officials in the Ministry of Defence and Home Affairs, he added.
He said the timely detection of the tunnel on International Border (IB) in Arnia Sector of Jammu region by BSF few days back and continuously repulsing of infiltration bids from across the border has been possible because of high level of professional approach which has improved both intelligence mechanism as well as response.
Dr Jitendra Singh also thanked Prime Minster Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh for having responded to their demand to have individual bunkers in addition to community bunkers along the IB and LoC in the State. After a through discussion in Ministry of Home Affairs a proposal has been mooted for construction of 19,000 individual bunkers and 4700 community bunkers along LoC and IB, he added.
Dr Singh while making a strong attack on the opposition parties in the State for playing divisive politics warned that in coming times the politics of double speak will no longer work.
He said any body entering into politics has to be prepared to work with absolute transparency and honesty without manipulating statements on any issue. On the one hand it is predominantly youth dominated India and on the other hand there is instant reporting and verification of facts on the Internet, he added.
Dr Jitendra said that in J&K three generations of politicians from certain political parties have survived by giving one statement in Jammu, another in Kashmir and saying Bharat Mata Ki Jai after reaching Delhi. But the new generation of politicians can no longer enjoy this privilege of double speak as foundation of this new culture in politics was laid by Narendra Modi over there years ago.
He said to enjoy credibility among the masses, the political parties and their leaders will be required to convince the youth that they themselves believe that what they are saying.
While referring to Swachha Abhiyan, he said the success of cleanliness drive is one of the achievements of Narendra Modi as he has introduced a new trend of converting the Government campaigns into public campaigning. The Union Minister said that this has been possible because of trust and faith Prime Minister commands among the masses, he added.
He said in past most of the campaigns began from masses and Government either conceded the demands made by them or tried to resist. But in the last three years of Narendra Modi Government the trend has been reversed by introducing Swachha drive and demonetization from the top and the people have carried it as the mass movement, he added.
