KATHUA, Dec 25: A team of Forest Officers under the supervision of DFO Kathua, led by Range Officer Kathua, Block Forester Kathua and officials of the Department assisted by Forest Protection Force (FPF) and police personnel today removed encroachment from a prime forest land near Hatli More.
On getting the specific information regarding illegal pucca cemented structure being constructed at the road side Forest Strip in the Hatli Morh Industrial area , the staff of the Kathua Forest Range and Forest Protection Force Personnel (FPF) immediately rushed to the spot and stopped the construction work .
Meanwhile the SSP-Kathua was also requested by the DFO-Kathua to provide the police assistance including the lady police constable to avoid any untoward incident or law and order problem.
The illegal Pucca cemented Structure was dismantled by thye team on forest land and it has been retrieved, illegal brushwood fencing was removed , the cemented bricks blocks were seized and a case was also registered against the Yash Pal S/o. Thoru Ram R/o Chak-Ram Singh, Kathua under the section 6 and 26 of the J&K Forest Act of 1987.
It is also important to mention here that the Department also seized the felled poles of Leuceenia and other species in the form of Fire wood (nearly 20 qntls), extracted from the same portion of the forest land where the land encroachers intended to raise the cemented structure.
It may be recalled that few days before only the Kathua Forest Department in one of the operation had also seized one JCB Machine from the same area which was also engaged/ hired to clear fell this prime forest strip. After seizure ,the case was register and the confiscation proceeding were also initiated against the encroacher and the owner/ driver of the JCB Machine.
