Forest employee dies in road mishap

JAMMU, Nov 6: An employee of Forest Department died today in a road mishap that occurred at Gujjar Nagar bridge on Tawi river.
According to a police official, the accident occurred this morning at about 9 O’ clock. He said Rakesh Kumar (42) son of Mohan Lal, resident of Sangrampur, was returning home riding on a bike after performing night duty when at Gujjar Nagar bridge, a speeding Swift car bearing registration number JK02BV-5225 hit his two-wheeler.
He said in the mishap, Rakesh received serious injuries and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After postmortem, his body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites,” he added.
The official said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and further investigation started.
