Forest employees stage protest

SRINAGAR, Nov 8: Employees of Forest Department today carried out a protest demonstration here in support of their demands.
The protesters expressed disappointment over the delay in the implementation of the Cabinet order, seeking reversal of illegal promotion of 34 Foresters in the department.
The protesters raised slogans against the higher ups of the department and demanded immediate action with respect to the implementation of the Cabinet order. They threatened to launch a State wide agitation in case the Government failed to take steps in this regard.
Talking to media persons, Abdul Rashid Dar, president Jammu and Kashmir Forest Employees Federation said that the Government should implement its Order 115 and issue orders of attachment of 34 officers who have been reverted after their promotion was cancelled. Dar demanded that 2100 helpers working in the department should be given promotion as it has been denied to them over the last 18 years.
