MENDHAR, May 30: A massive fire broke out in the forest area of Narol in tehsil Mendhar of Poonch district, here this evening.
The forest fire soon engulfed a vast area and it was spreading further till the last reports came in. Before the Forest Department men could come into action to control the fire, the blazes had spread in a large area, reports said.
An alert has been sounded in the residential areas adjoining the forest where blazes were erupting and all out efforts being made to control the fire with the help of locals.
