SUNDERBANI, July 6: The land grabbers today attacked a Forest guard causing him injuries in Kalakote area when the staff tried to stop illegal activity of some locals.
Official sources said that incident took place in Kalakote area when land grabbers were busy in encroaching Forest land by using JCB machine. The Forest staff at Kalakote received information and deputed some officials there.
It was came to the notice that two persons namely, Mohd Iqbal and Mohammad Zahid, both the residents of village Burta, tehsil Kalakote started leveling Forest land under Compartment number 117 by using JCB machine.
Forest Guard Gulzar Ahmed reached the spot and asked to stop the JCB machine. He had some heated arguments with land grabbers and then both the land grabbers attacked Forest Guard and caused him multiple injuries.
The Guard narrated the matter to senior officers. He was later shifted to SDH Kalakote and then referred to District Hospital Rajouri. Kalakote Police registered case FIR No. 75/2021 Under Section 332/323/IPC 26 Indian Forest Act against them.
