RAMBAN, July 21: Dhamkund police arrested son of a forest guard for kidnapping and raping a class 9th student.
As per police sources, on July 15, a complaint was lodged by a person hailing from Dhamkund with concerned police station that his minor daughter (Class 9th student) was kidnapped and raped by Tariq Hussain, son of forest guard Gulam Rabbani, a resident of Sumbhar, district Ramban.
The complainant further stated that some passerby heard the cries of the girl and rescued her, while the accused escaped from the spot.
Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR Number 15/15 under Section 376 RPC was registered at police station Dhamkund and investigation started.
The girl was restored to family members after conducting medical examination and completing other legal formalities.
On specific information, police team from Dhamkund police station conducted a raid and nabbed the accused from upper reaches of Sumbhar.
Police team led by SHO Dhamkund police station Inspector Mohammad Azeem Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of Arun Gupta, Additional SP Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban.
