RAJOURI, Dec 26: The Forest Department today foiled an attempt of some people to grab forest land in Manjakote area and seized a JCB.
Official sources said that receiving specific inputs regarding attempt to encroach forest land, a party was deployed by DFO Rajouri under the supervision of AD Masued Ahemad and Range Officer Sajjad Haider Shah which swung into action and despite strong resistance of miscreants seized a JCB machine from Manjakote area. It was found earth cutting inside forest boundary and foiled attempt to encroach the land effectively.
Further, the authorised officer’s proceedings stand initiated in the matter. It is worthwhile to mention that Addl PCCF BM Sharma has issued strict directions for ensuring round the clock vigil and patrolling in night to check illegal activities in forest areas.
