Forest official, ZEO in ACB net

SRINAGAR, June 24: Anti-Corruption Bureau today caught red handed a Junior Assistant in DFO office Awantipora, who was accepting bribe for renewal of Joinery Mill license while in a separate case of corruption, then ZEO Anantnag and a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher have been booked for illegal drawal of salary.
A complaint was received against Ghulam Mohammad Parray, Jr Assistant DFO Office Awantipora, Pulwama, alleging therein that the said official has demanded Rs 7000 for renewal of license for Joinery Mill at Srinagar. Accordingly, a trap team was constituted and case FIR No. 05/2019 in ACB South Kashmir Srinagar was registered. The trap team arrested the accused Jr Assistant and recovered the bribe money and further investigation is going on in the instant case.
In other case, Police Station ACB, South Kashmir has registered case FIR No. 04/2019 under section 5 (2) of J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 r/w section 120-B RPC against Ghulam Mohammad Itoo, the then ZEO Anantnag and Shafiqa Akhter, a Rehbar-e-Taleem Teacher of Education Department, Zone Anantnag on the basis of outcome of Preliminary Enquiry conducted in the Bureau related to drawal of salary, illegally and fraudulently in favour of said ReT Teacher during the period 2005-2013 which has inflicted monetary loss to the State exchequer.
The investigation of case has been set into motion for in-depth probe.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Bureau Kashmir today presented charge sheet (Challan) in case FIR No. 05/2018 P/s ACB U/S 5(1) (d) P.C Act, Svt. 2006 r/w 5(2) and Sec. 4-A (Amendment Act) 2014, against Parvaiz Ahmad Siraj, SO FCS & CA office Srinagar, who was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 on March 2, 2018 for processing of time bound promotion case of the complainant.
After completing investigation of the case, sanction for launching of prosecution of the accused was obtained from the competent authority. While presetting the challan before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Kashmir, the accused was present.
