KATHUA, Feb 17: The Forest officials at import side Lakhanpur check point of Anti Polythene Check Post (APCP) today seized 1375 kgs of banned non biodegradable disposable plastic glasses packed in 45 boxes.
As per reports a team of officials headed by Munish Gupta, Range Forest Officer APCP Lakhanpur, Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Inspector Forest Protection Force and Raj Kumar Forest Guard FPF during the checking of a truck bearing registration Number DL IGC / 4595 which was coming from Delhi and destined to Srinagar in Kashmir Valley recovered 45 boxes with 1375 kgs of banned Non Biodegradable Disposable Plastic Glasses.
The officials seized the contraband along with the truck and other stuff. The seizure was made under SRO 231 dated 23-3-2019 read with Section 6 of the J&K Non Biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal Act 2007 and rule 10 (1) of the J&K Non Biodegradable Management, Handling and Disposal rules, 2009.
The operation was supervised by Rahul Singh, DFO Kathua.
