KATHUA, Aug 1: A team of Anti Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur led by Munish Gupta, Range Officer seized 1620 bundles (620 cubic feet) poplar wood clefts in different sizes early this morning.
As per reports, the team of Forest officials including Om Parkash, Forester and Kewal Kumar, Forest Guard halted a truck bearing registration number HR65A-3883 coming from Srinagar and destined outside Union Territory to Rohtak Haryana. On physical verification it was found to be loaded with 1620 bundles (620 Cft) poplar wood clefts of different sizes camouflaged as Ply -Patta (Veneers). The truck along with stuff loaded in it was seized as per Section 52 (1) for violation of Section 4 (a) , 41, 42, 69 and 69 (a) of the Indian Forest Act, 1927 read with provisions of S.O 81 dated 2-03 -2020.
A Forest Offence Report (FOR) No 4/2020/21 dated 01.08.2020 was registered in Anti polythene Check Post Range Lakhanpur for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation was supervised by Rahul Singh Divisional Forest Officer Kathua.
