KISHTWAR, Oct 18: Police arrested a forest produce smuggler.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Chatroo led by SHO Inspector Sandeep Parihar and accompanied by Incharge Police Post Mughalmaidan PSI Imran Khan laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police team recovered 80 kilograms of banned forest produce (Nagchatri) from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Yousaf, son of Abdul Rehman of Drubeel Mughalmaidan Chatroo District Kishtwar.
A case FIR Number 58/2021 under Section 379 IPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
