SRINAGAR, Dec 14: In a significant development, former educationist and bureaucrat Prof Mohammad Assadullah Rather from North Kashmir joined Congress today.
Abdul Qayoom Khan and Maqsood Ahmad also joined the Congress along with other supporters in presence of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president, Tariq Hameed Karra.
On this occasion senior party leaders included Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, MLA Wagoora Irfan Hafeez Lone, Baramulla District president Mir Iqbal and Fayaz Ahmad Mir were present
Karra welcomed the new entrants into Party fold and hoped they will work vigorously to further strengthen Congress in their respective areas and serve people to the best of their ability.
Congress is an instrument of service to the people, it will continue to fight for safeguarding people rights and ensure deliverance of justice, JKPCC president added.
