JAMMU, Aug 21: Former Director of Operations in PMO during Atal Behari Vajpayee’s Government , Sudheendra Kulkarni today met head and founder of Save Sharda Committee, Kashmir, Ravinder Pandita in New Delhi to extend full support to Sharda Mission. A former diplomat who rode the bus to Lahore with Atal Bihari Vajpayee and later with Lal Krishan Advani visited Katas Raj temple in Pakistan, gave a three point formula on Sharda Mission.
He said “Sharda Peeth should be declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, secondly any rehabilitation plan to renovate the sanctum -sanctorum should be in consultation and concurrence of Kashmiri Hindus and thirdly an amendment in present LoC rules should be made to allow cross LoC pilgrimages, initially for J&K Hindus”.
Sudheendra Kulkarni is an eminent author and Head of the Observer Research Foundation and was once a think tank on Indo- Pak relations.
He lauded the efforts of Save Sharda Committee on cross LoC heritage and religious tourism and said he would be talking to Pakistani establishment also in this regard to ensure the reopening of Sharda Peeth pilgrimage on the lines of Kartarpur corridor.
The Save Sharda Committee head presented to him the document of its struggle and representations made to both Government of India and Government of Pakistan as well. ” It will be a biggest Confidence Building Measure (CBM ) for both the nations under strained relations ” said Ravinder Pandita, Head of Save Sharda Committee. He laid stress on preservation of culture and heritage and exploration of Sharda civilization.
Later Ravinder Pandita on behalf of Save Sharda Committee honoured Sudheendra Kulkarni with Sharda Shawl and memento.
