SRINAGAR, Dec 31: Former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has demanded J&K jobs only for the local youth and warned the State Administration to review its decision.
While welcoming the release of five political leaders, president of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party (Nationalist) GH Mir said that this should herald new beginning in the political spectrum in Kashmir and open vistas for the release of all other political leaders.
In a statement Mir said , “ The strength of a vibrant democracy allows broadcast of all view points. Though it is a belated step, but it should be seen as a beginning to restore the political activity in J&K.”
“I do hope that the Government will set free all other detained political leaders. I expect Home Minister Amit Shah and Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to take a call on this as early as possible,” Mir said .
Ghulam Hassan Mir demanded that the recently advertised posts in J&K for the rest of the country should be rolled back, as youth of J&K is already squeezed because of the hyper limited employment opportunities and if these are limited further, that will have a serious consequences on the psyche of the youth , who are fast losing hope in the absence of work. Their state of hopeless should not be converted into paralyzing helplessness.
The Government, he said, should arrest this trend by keeping jobs in J&K for the youth of J&K only. Mir said that he is sure that the government will take appropriate steps to keep the hope and promise of youth alive.
