Former Minister demands relief for Chowkibal victims

SRINAGAR, Apr 14: Senior vice president of J&K Peoples Conference and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today expressed shock and grief over the killing of three innocent civilians in Pak firing on Line of Control (LoC) yesterday and asked the Government to come with a proper border plan.
Besides killing of three civilian, near about 16 residential houses also got damaged due to firing in Reddi and Tumna villages. “It has become a routine that the poor people living along the border becoming target and nobody is coming forward to their rescue,” Vakil said.
Vakil said how long the people on the border will die and how long innocent killing will continue. People living on the border are also human beings and the Government should also treat them like a human being and make a solid border plan to save their lives.
Vakil appealed the Lieutenant Governor to provide immediate compensation of Rs five lakhs to the families who lost their dear ones and compensation to all those whose property got damaged in the firing. Besides financial assistance, he also demanded free ration to the affected families.
