JAMMU, May 21: Former MLA Ramban and Senior Congress leader, Ashok Kumar along with Congress Block presidents of Batote and Gandhri distributed free ration and essential kits to the families of widows and needy people.
Speaking on the occasion Kumar urged upon J&K government to ensure that Public Distribution System food grains reach to all the needy people in a transparent manner.
He said, in this lockdown the marginal section of people at far flung areas are suffering from shortage of food grains.
The Congress leader urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor to provide immediate financial assistance to the underprivileged families across the UT so that they can sustain their livelihood in this pandemic.
He appealed Congress frontal organizations, workers and leaders from Ramban and Doda to come forward and help the needy people in this time of crisis.
Janak Singh, BCC president (Batote), Rehmatullah Runyal, BCC president (Gandhri), Shahrukh Bhatti MC Councillor Batote, Arif Salaria general secretary DCC and Balwinder Singh were also present on the occasion.
