JAMMU, Oct 2: Former MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar toured Kabi, Bhatni and Dhuthan areas and listened the grievances of general public and urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor to direct the concerned authorities of PMGSY to restore the cutting works of Kothi-Jagir to Duthan-Jagir which is pending from several years due to negligence of the PMGSY authorities.
In a handout Kumar said people of Duthan and its peripheral villages are being isolated from rest of the world as this road will give connectivity to far flung villages of Udhampur and Reasi as the area borders with both Udhampur and Reasi Districts.
In a public meeting at Bhatni, Ashok said the villages Gandhri, Kabbi, Bhatni and (Surnikund and Shankpal Devta) have huge potential of tourism but this region has been ignored by successive government which has resulted into a great regional disparity in J&K.
He said this region should be brought under tourist map of J&K.
The former MLA also demanded Model Higher Secondary School at Bhatni and Model High School at Duthan as students have to trek more than 15 km through dense forests.
He urged upon the concerned authorities to sanction solar light to each house in the area and demanded immediately filling up of vacant posts of teachers at High School Bhatni and those of doctors and para-medical staff at Primary Health Centre Bhatni.
Kumar also demanded inclusion of Kanga to Kabbi link road in PMGSY.
