Former Police Chiefs honoured

SRINAGAR, Aug 30: An impressive function was held at Police Golf Course here today to honour the former State Director Generals of Police. The function was hosted by the Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar, the function was attended by M. M. Khajuria, M. N. Sabarwal, A. K. Suri, Gopal Sharma, P. S. Gill, Dr. A. K. Bhan, M.  K.  Mohanty, Madan Lal, Masood Ahmed Choudhary and S. S. Wazir.
On the occasion, Mr. Rajendra said that the function is re-union of Police Pariwar, organised to recall the unblemished services of former State Director Generals of Police and their role in the progress of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He said that such occasions provide an opportunity to share the experiences of our great Police Chiefs, who have always guided the force in different fields of policing. Their dedication and interest took the Organisation to a saga of growth and success in public service, he said.
Mr. Rajendra lauded the role of the former Chiefs for their contribution in bringing about visible and appreciable changes in working culture and administration of the department. He highlighted various revolutionary steps taken by the officers during their tenure to build the image of the Organisation and upgrade the facilities for the personnel, saying that it was due to their dint of dedication that the department has formulated a well designed welfare policy to benefit jawans and officers and their families.
The function was also attended by MLC, Vijay Bakaya, Chairman, Chenb Valley Power Corporation, M.Y. Khan, senior retired police officers, DG Prisons J&K, P. L. Gupta, ADGsP, S . P. Vaid, V. K. Singh and Dilbagh Singh,  IGsP,  Dr. B. Srinivas,   A.K.Choudhary,   H. K. Lohia, SJM Gillani, Abdul Ghani Mir, M. Suliman Salaria, S. K .Sharma, Yoginder Koul, Muneer Ahmed Khan and Sunil Kumar, besides senior police officers.
