Former President DCC demands equal share of J&K assets between UTs

LEH, Jan 8: Former President of District Congress Committee (DCC) Leh has demanded equal share of J&K assets and liabilities between the two Union Territories created on August 5, last year.
Addressing a press conference here, Former President DCC Leh and Ex-MLA Tsering Samphel flanked by former MLA Deldan Namgyal and Leh Municipal Committee President Dr Ishey Namgyal said that assets and liabilities belongs to then J&K is under distribution between J&K UT and Ladakh UT, so therefore Congress demands equal distribution of properties and Ladakh UT must get its due share.
He added that the Union Government has constituted a three members committee headed by Former Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra for equal division of assets and liabilities of Jammu and Kashmir between two successor Union Territories which came into existence on October 31, 2019.
Samphel also appealed to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Chairman
Gyal P Wangyal and Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal to raise their voice to demands equal share of distribution of assets between two UTs.
He said that that assets in the J&K includes State Aircraft, Chopper, State Houses in Delhi, Gurgaon, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kolkata and Mumbai, 60 per cent share in J&K Bank, 33 corporation, securities, fund in treasuries as on August 5, adding that UT Ladakh must gets equal share. He added that people has entrusted the responsibilities on BJP by voting them to power for five years and BJP must demands equal share for UT Ladakh.
