JAMMU, Sept 2: Monthly meeting of All J&K SC & ST Retired Employees Forum was held today at Bhartiya Dalit Sahatiya Academy Roopnagar, under the chairmanship of Prof G L Thapa, president of the Forum.
In the meeting, various burning issues concerning the SC & ST communities were discussed. The Forum strongly condemned the purported issuing of fake SC certificates by the then Tehsildar, Pouni in gross violation of the Constitution (Scheduled Castes).
Order, 1950 and the Constitution (Jammu and Kashmir) Scheduled Caste Order 1956. The Forum took a serious note of the reports that such certificates have also been issued in Bani. Basohli, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Reasi and Udhampur.
The Forum appealed the Government that an enquiry should be held into the matter
Among those, who attended the meeting, included Seva Dass Digra, C L Banal, H R Phonsa, M L Hans, G L Lakhnotra, Amar Nath, T C Bavouria, Parkash Ram, G D Dogra. V D Triyal, G L Bhagat, Nagar Mal, Harbans Lal Angurana, Madan Lal Bangotra and others.
