JAMMU, Nov 7: J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides here today celebrated 74th Foundation Day/Flag Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides wherein about 100 Scouts/ Guides, Scouters/Guiders and heads of various institutions participated in the celebrations.
I.D Soni, Former State Commissioner (S) was chief guest while Prof. Dr. Rakesh Koul, Principal Government Degree College Marh and Akhil Kohli (Admin Head) IDPS Jammu were guests of honour.
M.M Joshi, National Commissioner Headquarters for Special Programme/State Commissioner AR(S); Maitree Jain, State Commissioner (Guides); H.L Dogra, State Treasurer; M.M Sharma, Joint State Commissioner (R); R.P Kotwal, STC and R.C Vaid (ZC) also were present on the occasion.
Maitree Jain presented welcomed address and talked on importance of this day.
Some Scouts and Guides and Scouters/Guiders also spoke on the importance of this day and it was followed by some cultural items and songs pertaining to the occasion by different schools.
‘Dr. Sri Ram Memorial Awards’ were given to year’s Best Unit Leaders—Rakesh Sharma, Scout Master; Mudassir Ahmad Dar, Scout Master; Masrat Wani, Guide Captain and Dolly Chandhoke, Guide Captain by the chief guest.
A.K Sharma, K.L Sharma, Dr. Inder Bhushan Mishra, G Jain, Neelam Gupta, Neeru Talwal, Harvinder Kour, K.L Gupta, Krishna, Veena Vaid, Lalita Chaddha, Rita, Rahul, Bitu Kotwal, Gitaanjali, Surjit, Anu, Sayar Rajawat, Imran, Nasreen Akhter, Smiley Gupta, Yashpal and Manjeet Kour were also present on the occasion.
Wing Commander M.M Joshi and Prof. Dr. Rakesh Koul also spoke on the occasion.
The whole programme was conducted under the directions of Nasreen Khan, State Secretary cum Administrative Officer, J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Nasreen Khan also presented the vote of thanks.
The programme was conducted by Ranjana Gandotra, Haroon Malik and Ritika along with Scouts and Guides.
