JAMMU, Aug 23: Police today arrested four absconders, who were evading their arrest for the past several years.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Rajinder Sharma conducted raid and arrested the absconder, who has been identified as Sarbjeet Kumar, son of Mohan Lal of RS Pura.
The absconder was involved in a case registered with Gandhi Nagar Police Station under FIR number 302/2004 under Section 379 RPC and was evading his arrest since then, he added.
Meanwhile, police party from Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Mahesh Sharma arrested an absconder namely Surinder Singh, son of Lal Chand of Dharam Pura, Tehsil Horoli, Himachal Pardesh.
The accused was involved in a case registered with Akhnoor Police Station under FIR No 39/2004 under Section 407, 109 RPC, 48 Excise Act, he said, adding that the absconder was produced in the Court of Law.
Arnia Police also arrested a lady absconder, who has been identified as Banu, wife of Lal Hussain of Arnia.
The accused lady was involved in a case registered with Police Station Channi Himmat under FIR number 44/2007 under Section 452, 147, 148 RPC , he said, adding that the lady was handed over to Channi Himmat Police for further investigation.
Police party from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Parvez Sajjad under the supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary arrested an absconder involved in a murder case, he added.
The absconder identified as Rakesh Singh alias Kaka, son of Ved Parkash of Chakra Bishnah was involved in FIR number 51/12 under Section 302 registered with Police Station Nagrota, spokesman added.
