Four drown in Pahalgam

SRINAGAR :  Four persons drowned when their vehicle fell into a stream in the famous tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said today.
A vehicle carrying the boys fell into Lidder river at Nunwan Pahalgam at around 11.40 last night and four persons, including the driver of the vehicle, were drowned, police said.
While one person Ajaz Ahmad Bhat had a miraculous escape in the accident, bodies of four drowned persons were recovered from the stream, they said.
The deceased have been identified as the driver of the vehicle Bilal Ahmad Dar, Lateef Ahmad Bhat, Umar Ahangar and Rafi Bhat – all residents of adjoining Pulwama district. (agencies)
