JAMMU, Apr 6: Janipur, Chanderkote and Nowabad Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin and cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Nayat Ali laid a naka near Lohan Park and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 7 grams heroin from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sahil Sharma, son of Gurmeet Sharma, a resident of Reshamgarh Bakshi Nagar District Jammu. He was trying to sell the consignment among the youth to make them drug addicts, but police foiled his nefarious designs.
A case under FIR Number 38/2021 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Janipur and hunt has been launched to nab other persons involved in this illegal trade.
However, a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by PSI Ankush Bhau during patrolling intercepted a man, who was moving under doubtful circumstances.
During frisking, police team recovered 5 grams heroin from the possession of the person and immediately arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Imtyaz Ahmed, son of Slam Din, a resident of Sundgali Tattarsoo District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 28/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation started.
The entire operation was conducted under the guidance and monitoring of SHO Chanderkote Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban PD Nitya.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia during checking intercepted Alto car.
During checking, police team recovered 240 grams cannabis from the possession of two persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Rahul Dutta, a resident of Rah Siot, Tehsil Sunderbani, District Rajouri and Parkash Chand (worker in hotel), a resident of Jindrah.
A case under FIR Number 67/2021 under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation initiated.
