Four of a family injured as truck hits car

UDHAMPUR, Aug 10: Four members of a family were injured when their car was hit by a truck on the National Highway at Tamater Morh near Kud, here today.
The injured were identified as Tek Raj (50), his daughter Sapna Devi (25), son Manjeet Singh and Sachin Sharma, son of Ramesh Sharma. All are resident of village Chinta in Bhaderwah.
The Alto car, bearing registration number JK06-6334 was on way to Bhaderwah when it was hit by Truck JK02AA-8069 around 6:35 a.m. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors referred them to District Hospital Udhampur.
Meanwhile, a housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances.
According to Police, Naseema (22), wife of Shakeel Ahmed of Batote, consumed some poisonous substance and fell unconscious at the house of her in-laws. She was rushed to Sub-District Hospital Batote where doctors referred her to District Hospital Udhampur in view of her serious condition.
