JAMMU, Oct 14: Four fresh cases of dengue were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 320.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 1732 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 320 cases have been found positive and reports of 1115 have been found negative while result of 297 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 320 dengue cases, maximum 276 have been reported in Jammu district followed 12 in Kathua, 11 in Samba, six each in Udhampur Doda and Rajouri districts and one each in Poonch and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 320 dengue patients, 216 were adults (136 males and 80 females) and 104 were children (62 males and 42 females).
“So far dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
