JAMMU, Jan 24: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhou today awarded life-imprisonment to four namely Deepak Singh, son of Ramesh Singh, Manjeet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, Shammi Singh, son of Ravi Singh, Charanjeet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, all residents of Satrayian, R S Pura, who were facing trial in murder case for the last 10 years.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “the convicts are awarded rigorous imprisonment for life for the commission of offence under Section 302 RPC and pay a fine of Rs 10,000. In case of default of payment of fine the convict shall undergo further simple imprisonment of two months”.
“They are further convicted for the commission of offence under Section 452 RPC and awarded rigorous imprisonment of two years and pay a fine of Rs. 1000 and in default of payment of fine they shall undergo simple imprisonment for one month”, the court said, adding “they are also convicted for the commission of offence under Section 30 IA Act and awarded two months rigorous imprisonment and in default of payment of fine, they shall further undergo simple imprisonment for 15 days”.
All the sentences shall run concurrently, the court said.
