JAMMU, Jan 13: Police arrested four persons along with Rs 4,440 stake money and playing cards from Channi Himmat.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Channi Himmat police station conducted raid in Sector 2 of its jurisdiction and arrested four gamblers along with Rs 4,440 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Davinder Singh, son of Jagdev Singh, Ravinder Kumar, son of Thoru Ram, both residents of Channi Himmat, Suresh Chander, son of Jagar Nath of Ramnagar and Sonu Sharma, son of Dhanni Ram of Billawar.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered against the gamblers at Channi Himmat police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat police station Inspector Sajad Haider made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
