Four killed in road accidents

JAMMU, Aug 8: Four persons were killed in separate road accidents in various parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, a pedestrian identified as Sudesh Kumari wife of Karan Singh, a resident of Jallochak was killed on the spot this morning when a bus bearing registration No JK08B-8967 ran over her while crossing Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Bari-Brahmana area of Samba district.
The body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem at Government Hospital, Ramgarh. A case in this connection has been registered at police station Bari Brahmana. Police has seized the bus and arrested its driver.
A 25-year old girl was tonight killed on the spot when the scooty she was riding on was hit by an unknown truck on National Highway at Kaluchak area falling under the limits of police station Gangyal. The body of the deceased, who was identified as Rachna Devi daughter of Rattan Lal, a resident of Domana, was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for conducting post mortem tomorrow.  The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Sanji Singh (60) son of Sardar Singh, a resident of RS Pura, who was injured in a road mishap on August 4 at Bari Brahmana area today succumbed to his injuries at GMCH. The dead body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem. The concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
A woman, who was also injured in a road mishap at Thanda Pani in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district, today succumbed to her injuries here at GMCH. The deceased has been identified as Sonia Sharma (20) wife of Surinder Kumar, a resident of Thanda Pani in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district. The dead body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities. The concerned police have taken cognizance.
