Four theft cases solved; 2 arrested with stolen gold ornaments, other items

JAMMU, May 21: RS Pura Police worked out four theft cases with the arrest of two persons along with 11.5 grams of stolen gold ornaments, other items.
As per police sources, several complaints were lodged at Police Station RS Pura regarding theft cases in the area such as theft of 6 grams of gold ornaments in one case, 5.5 grams of gold ornaments in another case and similarly theft of 14 steel frames of doors and one hand pump motor, one drum etc.
Acting over the complaints, case under FIR Numbers 74/2022, 95/2022, 75/2022 and 91/22 under relevant Sections were registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by Inspector Rajesh Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh.
The team did strenuous efforts and finally arrested two thieves involved these cases.
The arrested persons were identified as Sohan Lal alias Sonu, son of Tarsem Lal of Chakrohi and Amit Kumar, son of Hans Raj of Banota RS Pura.
On their disclosure, all the 11.5 grams of stolen gold items and other items were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Ramnish Gupta.
