SRINAGAR, May 15: At least 14 NABARD job aspirants today were disallowed to sit in the examination centre here at Government Women’s Polytechnic College in Bemina city outskirts here.
An aspirant said, today was their online exam of Officer (Grade A) of NABARD which was conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). “I was supposed to sit in the centre at Bemina. Soon after I reached the examination centre, the staff on duty including a female officer checked my call letter and other Identity proofs including PAN card and election card.”
“Unfortunately, the call letter which I have download from NABARD website had carried my name as Saleem Anwar only and the female staff on examination duty objected by saying ‘in other ID proofs your name is Saleem Anwar Bhat and in call letter your name is mentioned as Saleem Anwar. We will not allow you to sit in the exams… You get out now’,” he said.
Similarly, the other remaining candidates were also disallowed to sit in the exam hall because of the same reasons.
The aspirant said he pleaded before them to allow him to sit in the examination. “I told them that I am not a fake candidate, trust me, don’t play with my future but despite repeated requests they didn’t pay any heed and pushed me out of the examination hall,” he said. He lamented the staff behavior and said they should have checked his other particulars.
When contacted, a concerned official said the fault lies with aspirants and they might have committed some mistakes while inserting form details. “They should have come with affidavits. Although we tried to help them but IBPS refused to allow them to appear in exam. There are set guidelines and we cannot do anything,” he added.
