Frame appropriate laws for operation of Cinemas: Dr Nirmal

JAMMU, Apr 17: Former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader, Dr. Nirmal Singh raised the issues of Cinema and Entertainment Industry, highlighted by a deputation in grievance camp at BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Highlighting the issue, Dr. Nirmal Singh said, “The entertainment industry provides employment opportunities to a multitude of people. Not just the contribution in GDP; this industry has played a vital role in the creation of jobs as well. In fact, the Media & Entertainment Industry has generated close to four million jobs all across India”.
Dr. Nirmal Singh had asked the administration to frame necessary laws regarding operation of Cinema theatres in a time bound manner, while talking to the concerned officials regarding the exact status of the issue.
“After the constitution of J&K UT, the earlier existing laws applicable to the cinema theatres ceased to exist. The new laws must be framed as quickly as possible to bail out and boost the Entertainment Industry in Jammu & Kashmir”, stated Dr. Nirmal Singh.
Sanjiv Verma, Principal Secretary GAD, assured Dr. Nirmal Singh, that a formal order would be issued within a fortnight regarding application of Cinematography rules in Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. Chief Minister, was listening to the public grievances at BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina and former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta also visited the grievance camp and listened to some of the grievances highlighted by certain individuals and deputations.
Numerous people, individually as well in the form of deputations, visited the BJP office to discuss their respective issues with the senior party leaders. Various issues represented contained matters of individual concerns as well as development oriented related to their respective areas.
Besides, various personal issues, other main issues presented related to PHE, PDD, roads, lanes, drains etc.
