KATHUA, Sept 4: Swami Gurdeep Giri Maharaj of Dera Guru Ravi Dass, Pathankot (Punjab) expressed deep grief and anguish on the selective and targeted killings of Rajni Bala, a school teacher in district Kulgam and other non locals in Kashmir.
Talking to reporters here, today he said that in these circumstances it is very difficult for any non-local to survive there. He further said that there are thousands of employees belonging to reserved category who are working in various departments in Kashmir Division since many years and left the Kashmir for the sake of safety and security and are continuously protesting at Jammu for the last more than three months, demanding framing of a suitable comprehensive transfer policy. As the situation in Kashmir is worrisome and deteriorating day by day, it is very difficult for the employees to serve in such circumstances.
Swami Ji said that “The Dera Guru Ravi Dass, Pathankot” extended full support and directed its all units of J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha to come forward and extend their full support to protesting employees. He also urged the concerned administration to frame a suitable comprehensive transfer policy in favour of the employees at an earliest.
Dhian Chand, president, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Unit Kathua said that such adamant attitude of Government towards their employees is callous. A Committee has been constituted by the Lt. Governor on 25-07-2022 to examine the issues of Jammu based reserved category employees working in Kashmir. But nothing has been done in this regard and no report has been submitted by the Committee to Government so far.
He warned the Government if the issues and demands of the employees are not met up in time bound manner, we would be constrained to come on the roads.
Lok Nath Dogra, general secretary of Sabha while interacting to media said that it is very shameful for the administration that after the targeted killing of Rajni Bala, Lt. Governor of J&K and other senior most officers in administration assured the victim’s family to provide maximum support. But the Government has not fulfilled their promise till date.
Raj Kumar Attri (husband of Martyr Rajni Bala) has not been transferred to Samba district so far despite the assurance given by Lt. Governor and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, he added.
