Free eye camp by Leighton Company enters third day

JAMMU, Nov 12: Five-day long free eye camp organized by Leighton Company engaged in construction of Asia’s longest Chenani-Nashri road tunnel under its programme of “Vision for All” entered third day today.
Screening for cataract operations was carried out at Sudh Mahadev and Chenani on first two days where 295 patients were screened.
Out of the screened patients 60 cataract operations will be carried out at Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur from today onwards to November 14.
An official said that the company has restored eye sight of nearly 600 blind/ partially blind men and women from remote areas and had given outpatient treatment to more than 2600 people.
He reiterated that the company will continue its drive by organizing eye camps every year in collaboration with Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur.
