SRINAGAR, May 26: Kashmir Gas Agency distributed free gas connections among the poor people today under Ujjwala Scheme launched by Ministry of Petroleum, Government of India and CAPD Department of State Government.
Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Commissioner, Riyaz Ahmed Wani, who was present on the occasion distributed gas connections among more than 200 women beneficiaries at a function organized by Indane distributor, Kashmir Gas Agency at Haft Chinar area.
Deputy Director, CAPD, Mohammad Aslam appealed to the people of the valley to come forward with documents for all required formalities to take the benefit of the scheme launched by the State and Central Govt.
Jagmohan Singh Raina, Proprietor of Kashmir Gas Agency and Pervez Khan, Manager, Indian Oil also spoke on the occasion and stressed to complete the target of Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana(PMUY) in the larger interest of female population of Jammu and Kashmir.
They appealed that the beneficiary may apply for new LPG gas connection under E-PMUY scheme by filing the prescribed “Know Your Customer (KYC)” application along with the supplementary KYC and undertaking for expanded PMUY and submitting the same to the LPG distributors. “The gas connections are free of cost under the declared categories notified by the Government,” they said.
