JAMMU, Aug 21: Mahavir International Jammu in association with Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana today organized a free heart check-up camp here at Nek Chand Memorial Jain Hall, Rani Park.
A team of experts under the leadership of Dr VK Sharma, Punjab Rattan, Director, CTVS and senior Intervention Cardiologist, Dr PS Sandhu from Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana examined the patients and gave medical advices.
More than 238 patients were benefitted from the camp, wherein basic heart investigations like ECG & Blood Glucose were provided to all the patients with intention to motivate people to eat healthy and live well.
Dr VK Sharma, said, “Many patients suffer serious illness from preventable diseases. By implementing these kinds of free medical and heart check-up camps, we help in early detection as well as prevention of diseases”.
“The problem of heart disease in the country has reached epidemic proportions; therefore it is essential to keep a check on it by organizing different camp in the society”, Dr Sharma said, adding the initiative by Mahavir International Jammu in association with Fortis Hospital was a step towards educating the society about various preventive measures, thereby detecting and treating cardiac problems, at an early stage.
