JAMMU, May 6: The Universal Friendship Society organized its 31st free medical camp at village Kotli Arjan Singh, RS Pura, Jammu.
The three-day camp started on May 3 and concluded on May 5, during which, people were educated about healthy diet and life style changes. They were briefed by Dr Kirpal Singh about the benefits of eating five portions of fruits and vegetables daily. He advised the people to minimize fatty and sugar diet, and take at least two and half hours of walk in a week.
Dr Singh also advised the visiting people to keep themselves active in daily life and avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. The laboratory tests were also conducted free of cost. The society had engaged Nidaan Diagnostics for the blood tests.
Patients from Kotli Arjan Singh, Kidyal, Badila and Jessore attended the camp. The common diseases found among the visiting patients were Anaemia, High Blood Pressure, Heart diseases, Bronchial Asthma, Bronchitis, Osteoarthritis, Diabetes Mellitus, Cataract of eyes and water borne diseases.
