Freedom fighters pay tributes to Shastri

JAMMU, Oct 3: J&K Freedom Fighters Association paid rich tributes to the former Prime Minister of India, late Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary here on Tuesday.
A function in this connection was organized by the Association members at Dewan Badri Nath School, Mubarak Mandi. B L Gupta, Chairman of the Association chaired while it was organized under the leadership of Ved Gandotra president of the body. A large number of members of the organization attended the programme.
The speakers and other members paid their rich tributes to late Shastri ji and described him as most gentleman, honest and a visionary leader. Students of the school also joined the programme and presented cultural items. The speakers threw light on the life and works of Shastri ji. They said Shastri Ji came from a poor family and rose to such a high position due to his abilities and potential. He said every Indian should develop qualities like Shastriji. He and his family is highly respected throughout the country even today.
Tej Ram Dogra, Raj Kumar Tyagi and Principal of the School, Ms Indu, Suresh Sharma, Inder Mohinder Tar Singh  and others also addressed the gathering.
