Freight rates fall on excess trucks position

NEW DELHI, Aug 22:  Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following easy availability position of trucks in the markets against restricted cargo movements.
Transporters said ample position of trucks and restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Goa freight rates were down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 72,000, Rs 78,000, Rs 69,000 and Rs 50,000.
Rates to Indore, Kolkata and Pune also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 21,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 28,000.
