Freight rates fall on huge position of trucks

NEW DELHI, June 15:  Freight rates for 10-tonne load declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following ample position of trucks as compared to less cargo movements.
Transporters said huge position of trucks in the markets and tight movements of cargo mainly brought down freight rates.
Delhi to Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Patna rates slipped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 17,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Rates to Kolkata, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Kochi also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 62,000, Rs 70,000 and Rs 73,000, respectively.
