NEW DELHI, May 3: Freight rates for 10-tonne pay load section to select destinations rose up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today, following tight position of trucks amid better cargo movements.
Transporters said less availability of trucks coupled with busy cargo movements, mainly led to rise in freight rates for select destinations.
New Delhi to Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 66,000, Rs 68,000 and Rs 77,000.
Rates to Mysore also rose by a similar margin of Rs 1,000 to Rs 71,000, while Indore and Jaipur freight rates were up by Rs 500 each to Rs 24,000 and Rs 22,000.
