Freight rates up on tight trucks position

NEW DELHI, May 13:  Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today largely on short availability of trucks in the market.
Transporters said tight position of trucks against pick up in cargoes, pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Patna, Mumbai and Kanpur freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 27,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 20,000.
Elsewhere, other centres freight hovered around previous levels on some support.
