Freight rates up on less position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Aug 31:  Freight rates for nine tonne load hardened by Rs 1000 in the local truck transport market today following tight position of trucks amid busy cargo movements.
Transporters said, less availability of trucks and increased cargo movement mainly pushed up some of centres’ freight rates.
Delhi to Hyderabad, Vijaywada and Goa freights moved up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 57,000, Rs 59,000 and Rs 55,000.
Rates to Chennai, Bangalore, Surat and Gwalior also rose by Rs 1000 each to Rs 65,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 13,000.
